Planning for College
Help with Planning for College at E.O. Smith
I would highly recommend that, if you are a high school student or the parent of one at E.O. Smith, that you make sure you are registered to use Naviance through the E.O. Smith High School Guidance Department.
A college/course planning software program, called Naviance, is available to parents of high school students through E.O. Smith. The program allows students and families to investigate, research, track, and plan for the college admission process. The website provides information and worksheets useful for college planning including:
- College profiles demonstrating E.O. Smith student’s application history.
- Scatergrams that allow you to compare grade point averages and test scores with those of students who applied to those colleges.
- A schedule for college visits to the High School each Fall.
- Lists of available scholarships
- Career Interest Inventories
- Resume Builder
- Plus Additional Resources
To register, call your child’s counselor or Darlene Murphy at the High School at 860-487-1324 for your registration code. Next, go the EOSmith home page, choose the student tab and then click on the link to Naviance., or go to connection.naviance.com/eosmith. You will then need to click “I need to register”. Enter your registration code and begin. Please make sure you enter a current email address in order to receive updates from the guidance department and your child’s counselor. If you have any questions, your child’s counselor can assist you with the process.
